Read Across America Day

Join us on the JoCo Literacy/STEM Bus for Read Across America Day on Saturday, March 2nd from 10am to 2pm. We will have prevention information and resources for parents to help support students so they can make good choices, stay healthy and live substance-free!

Vaping Prevention Assemblies

During Dr. Elisha Tribble spoke to three different groups of students at Johnson Co. Schools about the dangers and risks of vaping and. nicotine use. Dr. Tribble been a nurse for 20 years.  She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia, her Masters of Science in Nursing from Georgia College and State University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Mercer University.  Her background in nursing is Emergency Medicine.  Dr. Tribble currently is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Middle Georgia State University.  She also work part time in the Emergency Room.

Trunk or Treat

At the 2023 Trunk or Treat event in downtown Wrightsville, Johnson County families experienced more than just fun; they gained valuable knowledge and resources thanks to the JoCo Prevention Alliance booth. Students received Trick or Treat bags and other goodies while parents received crucial information to help guide and educate their children about the risks associated with alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and vaping. This event not only entertained but also empowered the Johnson County community with knowledge for a healthier, safer future.

Red Ribon Week

During Red Ribbon Week 2023, middle and high school students in Johnson County teamed up against drugs by taking pledges to live substance-free!

APTT Meeting

Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) and Partners In Prevention Project Grant teamed up with Director of Students Services Amber Attaway to share information with parents with PBIS, the MTSS process, and the 24/7 tutoring program offered at JoCo called Paper.
